Progressive house producerJ Ribbon unveils ‘Man On Fire’

J Ribbon - aka progressive house producer Johnny Paul Newman - releases his brand new single, 'Man On Fire', via Anjunabeats.

The track arrives hot on the heels of his double A-side ‘Redemption / Lights On’, which earned support from Dom Dolla at CRSSD Festival and Joris Voorn & Korolova at Ultra Music Festival

English progressive house producer Johnny Paul Newman signed to Pete Tong’s label FFRR Records when he was just 15. Now releasing under the alias J Ribbon, the 21-year old has supported Eric Prydz throughout his summer residencies at Hï Ibiza in 2024 and [UNVRS] Ibiza in 2025. Johnny is also one half of dance duo Rathbone Place, whose 2021 single ‘Be Free’ saw widespread support on BBC Radio 1 via Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Annie Mac and Arielle Free, plus consistent DJ support from Mark Knight, Jax Jones, Sigala, Bakermat and Martin Garrix.

In 2024, J Ribbon made his Anjunabeats debut with ‘My Habitat’ as part of the label’s Rising EP series, which saw cross-genre spins from the likes of Adriatique, Sam Divine and Don Diablo. His subsequent Anjunabeats releases have built on that debut. Released last year, ‘Lifetime’ generated over 3M streams across DSPs, became a regular track used on the BBC’s Match of the Day and Women’s EURO 2025 coverage, and was a sleeper hit on TikTok generating over 1M views organically.

Last year, alongside his residencies at [UNVRS] Ibiza and Hï Ibiza, J Ribbon played multiple sold-out shows at O2 Academy Brixton opening for Above & Beyond and Ushuaïa Ibiza opening for the likes of Eric Prydz, Adam Beyer, Franky Wah, Armin van Buuren and D.O.D. The UK producer also played shows at Fabric, Ministry of Sound, AFAS Live, A State of Trance Festival London and Pier 17.
