JOY (Anonymous) have released their new single 'Light in the Dark', via the duo’s label imprint, From Concentrate.
‘Light in the Dark’ is a statement of intent from the group — a song rooted in finding joy in people even in dark times, and in what can grow from togetherness, connection and shared experience. Beginning as sketches written two years ago on the island of Stornoway, the track has evolved across studios, backstage rooms and live shows around the world, gradually shaped by the energy of the crowds the duo has built such a close relationship with.
Blending euphoric emotion with raw immediacy, the single reflects the bands journey across electronic music. Hugely inspired from playing their new live show the song brings their sound closer once again to their debut album ‘Human Again’ with Henry from the duo leading on vocals, whilst incorporating all the energy of the last few years immersed in club culture. It’s a standout release that truly defines the communal spirit at the centre of all Joy Anonymous’ music: songs that transform and deepen through human connection.

Alongside the release, Joy Anonymous will also unveil a special “source” version of the track — an intimate look into the origins of the music, exposing the early textures, instrumentation and emotional foundations before the songs evolve through performance and collective experience.
Speaking about the release, Henry says: “‘Light in the Dark’ is a statement of intent of finding joy in people even in these dark times and for what can come out of it. By sharing the second track ‘JOY (Light In The Dark) Source’ we can share a version of the song that shows the musicality and the rawness of how our writing begins, and then how playing it to crowds and bringing that experience creates the final song you hear.”
