My First Time have released their debut, self-titled EP, featuring new single and our focus track from the record, 'The Kids Are'.
The track arrives with visuals directed by Buffy Dunton and James Worsley. Shot predominantly through a wide-angle, fisheye lens, the official video sees Stroud-Allen — flanked by band members Naia Jones, James Mellen and Jordanna Forsey — performing the song in various low ebb, unmistakably British locations; from grotty underpasses, to empty pub backrooms and sprawling inner-city parks.
Comprised of four new tracks — including recent singles ‘Picture Of Health’ and ‘Celebrity’ — the My First Time EP zeroes in on themes of angst, disorder, fantasy, disaffected youth and the wider socio-political rot impacting an entire generation of young people in the UK.

From examining the relationship between vices and toxicity via ‘Picture Of Health’ to our cultural obsession with fame on ‘Celebrity’ and drug-addled escapism on sobering EP focus track, ‘The Kids Are’, this is a record that channels palpable frustration into a radical, thoroughly absorbing body of work.
“My First Time represents the first painful encounter with adulthood”, explains lead singer, Isaac-Stroud Allen. “The frightening realisation of the mundane and mediocre life that may await you. Denial, met with an inescapable need to feel wanted, are your only true remedies. When everyone tells you that these are the best years of your life, but all you truly want to do is escape them. This EP examines the dull thump of reality and the futile pursuit of success, love and fame. A world where you’re desperate for the chalice to overflow, but instead you’re left with only the gruel.”
Hailed as “one of the weekend’s true surprises” by Clash Magazine after their electric performance at The Great Escape last summer and freshly tipped by Kerrang! and NME for 2026, the band enjoyed a bustling breakout year of live shows, festival performances and showcases in 2025. They joined SOFY on her UK headline tour in April, supported Picture Parlour at London’s 100 Club, performed at Wilderness Festival, Dot To Dot and Get Together, and crushed a trio of rowdy London dates at Soho’s Third Man Records, Folklore in Hackney and The George Tavern. My First Time also made their European debut in December, performing to over 3000 people at Trans Musicales in Rennes, France.
To coincide with the release of their debut EP, My First Time have announced a short headline UK tour this April, with dates in Leeds, Bristol and London. The band are also already confirmed for festivals including Motel Mozaique, Truck Festival, Night Currents and Mad Cool, with more dates to be announced soon.
