GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum superstar Noah Kahan unveils his latest single, 'Porch Light', the newest offering from his highly anticipated fourth studio album, The Great Divide, arriving April 24 via Island/Mercury Records.
The song was written by Kahan alongside GRAMMY-winning producer Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift, Bon Iver) during their first-ever session together, and produced by Kahan, Dessner, and acclaimed producer and Stick Season collaborator Gabe Simon (Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey, Koe Wetzel). It was recorded between Dessner’s famed Long Pond Studio in Hudson, NY and Gold Pacific Studios in Nashville.
‘Porch Light’ is inspired by the emotional weight Kahan believes he placed on his family by opening up their lives throughout his creative narrative and lyrical storytelling on Stick Season. The track finds the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter adopting his mother’s perspective as he sings, “I hope you tell me that you’re winding down / That you’ve lost the taste to face the crowd / That whatever made you famous made you sick / That you can only do what pain allows / It ain’t up to you to make it out / And there ain’t no shame in callin’ this thing quits.”

The Great Divide has been hailed as one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year, with Billboard already declaring it one of 2027’s GRAMMY Album Of The Year contenders. Upon its release in January, the album’s title track became the second biggest song debut of 2026 and is Kahan’s first #1 on the Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs Chart. The single also debuted at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, becoming Kahan’s highest charting song of his career surpassing ‘Stick Season’.
Globally, ‘The Great Divide’ is his highest charting single debut around the world, including Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, and the Netherlands. On the radio front, the track captured the quickest rise to #1 on the Adult Alternative Airplay Chart in a decade and has held the #1 spot on the Alternative Airplay Chart for the past five weeks.
Following the release of The Great Divide this April, Kahan will bring the new album to life on his sold-out The Great Divide Tour this summer across North America, which has sold more than one million tickets to date and includes four record-breaking performances at Boston’s Fenway Park—making the beloved New Englander the first artist ever to play and sell out four nights at the iconic venue.
