Stormzy makes his return with brand new single 'Mel Made Me Do It', along with its cameo-packed accompanying video.
A direct reference to the influence of his long-time personal assistant, Melissa’s Wardrobe, the 29-year-old’s first solo release since 2020 is a searing seven minute track that arrives alongside a groundbreaking video featuring a who’s who of cameos. The song also features a poignant monologue written by Wretch 32 and narrated by Michaela Coel.
Cameos in the video range from fellow musicians such as Dave, Headie One, JME, Little Simz and Stylo G to sporting icons Ian Wright, Jose Mourinho and Usain Bolt, plus Stormzy’s own family during the kitchen scene.

Climbing out of the underground grime scene with a series of triumphant mixtapes, singles, and freestyles, Stormzy made his breakthrough in 2017 with his platinum-certified, chart-topping debut Gang Signs & Prayer, which incorporated gospel and R&B influences. Within five years of the release of his debut EP, he was a Glastonbury festival headliner.
The critically lauded album debuted atop the U.K. albums chart and was soon certified platinum. In 2018, the album took home the prize for British Album of the Year and Stormzy was crowned British Male Solo Artist of the Year at the annual Brit Awards.
Riding the wave of acclaim, he was announced as one of the headliners at 2019’s Glastonbury Festival. That year, he also scored his first number one single in the UK with ‘Vossi Bop’.
Following single ‘Own It’ featuring Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy, reached #2 in the singles chart, and preceded the South London star’s second album, Heavy Is the Head, which hit the top of the UK Album charts upon its release in December 2019.
