The Ryder Cup is bringing fans closer to the pre-round routine of the world’s best golfers by launching the official ‘Range Sessions’ Playlist on Spotify.
The core Range Sessions playlist is updated each week with the hottest new music and takeovers from your favourite golfers and musicians who love hitting the fairway.
This week’s First Tee Anthem is ‘Last Day of Summer’ by Katy B x Jax Jones.
Music forms a core part of an athlete’s pre-match preparation. Available to stream on Spotify, the Ryder Cup ‘Range Sessions’ playlist will be inspired by tracks the pros choose to listen to on the driving range and in the locker room to get ready for golf’s greatest team contest, where the loud and intense first tee atmosphere is the ultimate test of a golfer’s nerve.
The biennial tournament, first contested in 1927, is one of the most anticipated events of the Golf calendar in the year that it takes place. The Ryder Cup pits some of the world’s best golfers, representing the teams of USA and Europe, against each other in various match play competitions. The winners of each tie score their team points, with the team scoring the most cumulative total points winning and lifting the iconic trophy.
The event alternates between continents for every tournament, with the Europe playing host to the 46th Ryder Cup at The Golf Course at Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland from September 17-19 2027. Europe go into the event as the holders, after a dramatic 17-15 victory to retain the trophy against the hosts at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York.
The playlist will be updated with the music Team Europe and the U.S. stars listen to with our regular playlist takeovers. The playlist will also help keep sports fans on trend with the biggest new releases plus popular European and U.S. sounds added weekly, including a weekly First Tee Anthem topping the playlist each week, courtesy of Sport Playlists.
To celebrate the launch of the, playlist in the build up to the 2023 event, Team Europe Captain Luke Donald launched his own playlist. Curated by the former World #1 and PGA Player of the Year, Donald’s playlist is packed with a variety of artists and genres that get him in the zone to hit the course including tracks from Queen, Oasis, Eminem, The Beatles, Calvin Harris, Tiesto and more.
