About: Maddox Jones

Having enjoyed early success with The Departure inluding four Top 40 hits and playing Reading & Leeds and Glastonbury Festivals, Maddox burst onto the scene as a solo artist in 2020 with the critically acclaimed EP, Headspace, reaching #4 in the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart and being named One to Watch by BBC Introducing Northampton. Last month saw the release of ‘No More Ghosts’, his first new music since his acclaimed second album, Waiting for the World to Turn in 2024. Maddox is a supporter of Manchester United, and you can listen to his latest single on our unofficial United playlist, Red Devils Records.

How did you come to support Manchester United, and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?

Maddox: I only really started supporting Manchester United when Ole Gunnar Solskjær took over as interim manager. There was something about that period – the positivity, the freedom, and the feeling that the club had found its soul again. Those early Ole wins and comeback moments really pulled me in, so I’m not a glory supporter!

Who have been your favourite five players for United?

Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, David de Gea, and Luke Shaw – players who, at their best, brought belief and personality back into the team.

What are your thoughts on how the 2025/26 season has gone so far and what are your hopes for the rest of this season?

Another season of transition. I mean I actually thought [Ruben] Amorim was ok, but then what [Michael] Carrick has done in three games is just crazy! I’m hoping the rest of the season is about building consistency, confidence, and a clear identity that fans can properly get behind again.

What’s going on for you as an artist at the moment?

I’m currently working on my third album and heading out on a European tour in April. It’s a really exciting creative period, with new music on the way and live shows across Europe shaping what this next chapter sounds and feels like.
