Rising soul powerhouse Nectar Woode returns with, ‘Lights Off’, marking her first release of the year.
The track sets the tone for what promises to be an incredible year for the British-Ghanaian artist. Carried by Nectar’s velvet-smooth vocals, ‘Lights Off’ narrates the need to drown out the noise in the pursuit of inner peace. Introspective and effortlessly soulful, the track is a heartfelt ode to honouring your intuition and emotions.
On the release, Nectar Woode says: “During this time of writing I found that other people’s opinions would play on my mind constantly and affect my choices and what I wanted to do in life. So, this is a love song about wanting to be with someone but having to drown out the noise and having to turn the ‘lights off’ which are other people’s opinions. It’s about not being dictated by anyone’s emotions and is also a form of growing up and realising you can do whatever you want. A journey to finding your love all wrapped up in a desert soul tune.”

The new music follows an unforgettable run of live shows, supporting Joy Crookes on her UK & EU tour, as well as a string of shows including her biggest sold-out headline show at London’s Village Underground and the iconic Royal Albert Hall in December. Following a celebrated debut on Later…with Jools Holland, plus acclaimed praise from fans and industry heavyweights alike, Nectar’s trajectory stays on the rise as she gears up to unveil an even deeper layer of her artistry with her next project.
Bringing the new music to life this spring, Nectar will embark on a four-date European headline tour powered by NOTION and dollop. Titled ‘BLOOM’, the tour will kick off at the notable Jazz Cafe, London, before heading to Paris, Amsterdam, and Berlin. Aiming to spotlight and support emerging artists at pivotal moments in their live journey, the shows will not only deepen Nectar’s narrative as she reflects on heritage and identity, but firmly cement her as a serious one to watch in 2026.
Additional shows scheduled for this year also include Good Vibrations Society in Sussex, Down The Rabbit Hole in Holland, Pritemps de Bourges in France, and a major support slot for GRAMMY-award winning band Bastille on Saturday 11 July.
