Danny Griffiths has released his highly anticipated debut single, 'Lightweight Champion', following his signing to Glassnote Records.
The Shrewsbury singer-songwriter joins Glassnote following a breakout year of sold-out shows and overwhelming fan demand for the songs from his live set. After months of fans asking for its release, the singer-songwriter has finally put the record onto streaming platforms. Danny Griffiths’ story began singing covers in local pubs. As he grew more comfortable performing for an audience, he started introducing his own material into his sets. Those songs quickly found an audience of their own, with ‘Lightweight Champion’ becoming a standout of his live set and helping fuel a rapidly growing fanbase.
Before officially releasing a single, Griffiths has generated 12M+ views, 75K+ saves and thousands of comments across social media, while his following has surpassed 61K, growing by approximately 2,000 followers per week. Myles Smith added to the buzz by commenting, “Love this,” on one of Griffiths’ videos performing his unreleased song ‘Hang Up’.

‘Lightweight Champion’ has been at the centre of that momentum. Shared repeatedly in demo form, the song has prompted a steady stream of fans asking when they could finally hear it in full. A recent clip generated 120K views in 24 hours. For Glassnote, the signing marks the next chapter for an artist who has already demonstrated the ability to build a genuine audience before releasing music commercially.
On his signing with Glassnote, Danny says, “I’m delighted to be joining Daniel and his team at Glassnote Records. Their fierce independent spirit and passion for my music resonated deeply with me from our first early meetings. I can’t wait to get started.”
The online momentum has translated directly into a growing live audience, with Griffiths selling out headline shows for the past six months. He has also supported The Kooks, Jamie Webster, The K’s and The Cheap Thrills, with headline dates continuing through November and December before he joins Two Door Cinema Club on tour in February 2027.
