FEET have delivered their new single 'Why Would I Lie’, the second track to be lifted from their forthcoming album Make It Up.
The follow-up to the magnificent opener ‘The Real Thing’, ‘Why Would I Lie’ showcases a more sombre, but no less melodic and lyrically sharp side to the band’s ever developing sound. Singer and frontman George Haverson commented on the track, “A glowing review can never hurt when in pursuit of a love interest. That’s the intention behind ‘Why Would I Lie?”
Make It Up is the full-length follow up to FEET’s debut album What’s Inside Is More Than Just Ham which catapulted them into the indie-rock spotlight in 2019. Crowd pleasing thrillers such as ‘Petty Thieving’, ‘Outer Rim’ and the anthemic ‘English Weather’ solidified the band as one of the most exciting live acts on the scene.

The band have continued to win over audiences across the UK and European live circuit since that fine debut, whilst honing their new sound via 2021’s Walking Machine EP – as well as standalone singles ‘Can’t Get In’ and crowd favourite ‘Changing My Mind Again’.
Make It Up distils the FEET of old with a fine-tuned, reflective and compelling new sound that materialised over studio sessions last year. On the making of the album, Haverson comments; “There’s no throw away ideas on this album and everything has to have its place. I don’t like to say polished, but it is perfected to a point where everything can be done in its fullest form. I feel like we’ve got 12 complete songs on this album and not 12 ideas. We’ve made the FEET machine and now it’s a case of inserting the right idea and the output is a great song. Before, it felt a bit more like we were throwing shit at the wall. This time round, everything feels a bit more refined.”
The album is produced by Andy Savours (Black Country New Road, The Magic Gang, The Horrors…), mixed by Caesar Edmunds (Beach House, Wet Leg, Foals…), and mastered by Christian Wright at Abbey Road Studios.
FEET recently embarked on an ill-fated support slot with Psychedelic Porn Crumpets across the UK and Europe, which was abruptly halted only a few shows in, when one of the headline act was attacked by a dog – you couldn’t make it up. Unperturbed and having just played a head-spinning show at Brixton’s Windmill, the band quickly planned their next move, another headline show, this time at Hackney’s Moth Club in East London. The show sold out in a mere 48 hours and moves the needle once more for this industrious, creative and gloriously entertaining five piece.
