Newcastle indie sensation Heidi Curtis announces her new EP, Summon, set for release November 20 via AWAL, alongside its title-track.
Fresh from a monumental summer on the live circuit, which saw Curtis support acts including Florence + The Machine, Lewis Capaldi, Self Esteem, Mumford & Sons, The War On Drugs, Rachel Chinouriri and Wunderhorse (preceded by a spring tour run with Holly Humberstone), the enigmatic songwriter returns with her most euphoric offering to date in ‘Summon’ – a lung-bursting, authentic anthem that solidifies her status amongst the emerging indie elite.

Having earned countless plaudits throughout the press community from key titans such as NME Magazine, DIY Magazine, Rolling Stone UK, Dork Magazine, The Line Of Best Fit, Guitar and Wonderland, in addition to becoming BBC Introducing on Radio 1’s ‘Need To Know’ Artist and securing regular BBC 6 Music airplay (Craig Charles, Emily Pilbeam), the North East native is primed for a manic autumn with her debut UK headline tour (incl. The Lexington, London & a sold-out The Grove, Newcastle) and more new music to follow.
Speaking ahead of her single release, Curtis revealed: “‘Summon’ is a totem of strength and resilience. It represents the courage we conjure to step forward into situations that intimidate us and conquer them with confidence. Writing this song made me realise how much I question my power as a woman in music, how uncomfortable I sometimes feel to be too loud or too grand. However, ‘Summon’ reignited a strength in me I had forgotten and through its creation, reminded me to not be afraid of creating music that was ferocious.”
