Interplanetary Criminal, Room Two Recordings' newest signing, has released his debut single on the label, 'Races', featuring Blanco.
The eagerly anticipated track has been teased for several months, creating waves across the music scene with its dynamic blend of UK garage and drill influences.
Hailing from Bolton, Greater Manchester, Interplanetary Criminal has quickly risen to prominence as one of the most sought-after DJ/producers of the moment. Spearheading the UK garage revival, his whirlwind ascent boasts impressive accolades including a UK #1 single (‘B.O.T.A.’ with Eliza Rose), sold-out headline tours across the UK, and a slew of electrifying Boiler Room appearances.
His recent Boiler Room Berlin set, which garnered over 700k views, opened with the infectious groove of ‘Races’, a testament to the track’s undeniable energy and appeal. Moreover, Interplanetary Criminal brought Blanco out on stage at the Warehouse Project for a live performance of the single, further solidifying the anticipation surrounding this collaboration.

Blanco, emerging from the Harlem Spartans, is recognised as a solo artist who has evolved beyond the confines of UK drill. With his post-Harlem releases exploring diverse sounds, Blanco’s versatility shines through in ‘Races’. Following the success of his 2023 single “Brilliant Mind”, Blanco continues to push boundaries and defy expectations.
Speaking on the single, Interplanetary Criminal states: “I wanted to pay homage to the early 00’s darker side of 2-step garage and encapsulate the atmosphere of Manchester’s colder history of bass music. Blanco brings his sick word play and flow on top of this 2-step tune bringing it into 2024. This one is for the culture, retaining the underground presence that we both came from.”
‘Races’ represents a convergence of talent and creativity, seamlessly blending Interplanetary Criminal’s mastery of bass-driven beats with Blanco’s lyrical prowess. As Room Two Recordings continues to champion groundbreaking artists and innovative sounds, this collaboration serves as a testament to the label’s commitment to pushing boundaries and shaping the future of electronic music.
Interplanetary Criminal is confirmed to play at renowned festivals including Love Saves The Day, Parklife, Outlook, and Hideout this summer, as well as the iconic Circoloco in Ibiza. Additionally, he is embarking on a headline US tour slated for April/May 2024, following successful tours across the US, Australia, and Europe.
