NSW-based indie-rock quartet Pacific Avenue have announced their highly anticipated debut album, alongside the release of their sparkling new single 'Spin Me Like Your Records'.
Within the opening minute of ‘Spin Me Like Your Records’, Pacific Avenue have permeated the song with memorable hooks and melodies, parading their songwriting skills at a fanciful apex. In familiar fashion, the chorus arrives with shimmering zeal and sultry harmonies, unifying the mystic elements of music that brings their fanbase together, expressed with elegant execution.
The band talk about the meaning behind the new single: “The main theme behind writing ‘Spin Me Like Your Records’ was to get a fun, upbeat track that we could dance around to and have as a really nice moment in our live set for festivals. We got to a point where we thought we’d finished the album and had a listening party with our label, publisher and management, and while we loved it, we all thought it could use some straight-up-and-down classic rock songs.”

The band continue: “So, we wrote our last single, ‘Leaving For London’, another album track, ‘Modern Lovers’ and finally this single, and I don’t think the album would be the same without them. It’s just another silly song about being hopelessly into someone.”
‘Spin Me Like Your Records’ will feature on Pacific Avenue’s debut album Flowers, which is slated for release on May 5 via BMG. Previous singles ‘Leaving For London‘, ‘Give It Up For Yourself‘ and ‘Easy Love‘ are also included on the forthcoming LP. All previous singles from the record were added to full rotation on triple j and triple j Unearthed and received immense support across DSPs, radio and widespread praise from media and tastemakers worldwide.
In the live arena, Pacific Avenue have sold out multiple shows across their last four headline tours, including Eora/Sydney’s Factory Theatre and Oxford Art Factory, Dharawal/Wollongong’s Uni Bar, Naarm/Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club, Meanjin/Brisbane’s The Brightside and The West Room, and Cavanbah/Byron Bay’s The Northern Hotel. They’ll also play Australian festivals Party in the Paddock and Burleigh Ball Festival, to accompany the single release.
Throughout their career, Pacific Avenue have shared the stage with 5 Seconds of Summer, DMAs, Louis Tomlinson, The Wombats, Tash Sultana, Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale, San Cisco, Ruby Fields and Thelma Plum. They’ve also been booked on festivals such as Lost Paradise, This That, Spaced Out, Yours & Owls and Snowtunes.
