Following on from recent releases ‘come thruuu’ and ‘running’, ‘healing’ lifts vibes a bit with wavy keys, punchy percussion and its author’s addictive flow. The knocker sources nonfiction as Reuben vents vulnerably about accountability and respect by pinching from a past unhealthy relationship.
Before Reuben Aziz became one the next big international rhythm and soul star, he was simply an extraordinarily gifted teenage singer, songwriter and musician who’d gone viral for rapping. The now 20-year-old credits restless energy during the pandemic for a creative pivot that saw him post freestyles to social media. The thousands of views and new followers only served as a spotlight for the multi-talent’s first love: Song.

Raised on his father’s favorite MCs (Tupac to The Fugees to DMX), Reuben found further inspiration in his generation’s finest double threats (Frank Ocean, Daniel Cesar etc). The result was Reuben conceiving his own brew of modern soul: Intoxicating lyricism poured with a saccharine falsetto.
After connecting with renowned production team Da Beatfreakz and then signing a production deal with their DBF production imprint, Reuben found his first hit with the pretty love letter ‘Find U’. The Tik Tok release of its infectious sped-up version not only increased the singer’s virility, but established him as a UK artist on the immediate horizon. Now the Kendrick and Kanye fan is ready to introduce himself to the world with singles that exhibit an emotional maturity beyond his Under 21 status.
Reuben is the son of Arabic and English parents who raised him in a church that fostered his love for music. He is a self-taught vocalist and guitar player who began writing music at age ten and producing at 14. The 6’2 former point guard used to have hoop dreams, but today, his focus is on transcending UK borders to become the next Craig David with fashion sensibilities of Pharrell.
