Rosellas release their latest single, ‘Suddenly Something’, ahead of upcoming EP, Across All Skies - due for release November 20.
The upcoming single arrives as the first of their next EP offering, Across All Skies via First Run Records and Notting Hill Music. The Manchester quartet changed their writing approach ahead of the forthcoming body of work, heading into the studio only with the very beginning of formative ideas, roughly sketched out in the form of voice memos and demos, with the aim of writing the songs in the studio environment.
Rosellas comment on the new single, “This was definitely the easiest song to write off the EP, the one that came the quickest and the most naturally. It has a nostalgic quality in the verses, almost dreamlike. It describes the strong feeling of something unexpectedly taking hold of you, in a world where everything can feel fleeting or fragile. Fleeting moments was a big lyrical idea in this song, e.g. sunrise, daybreak… everything has a temporary quality. Beautiful things appear and disappear just as quickly. This is why we liked the image of skywriting, a message in the clouds that vanishes as quickly as it’s written – something meaningful appears, communicates something profound, and then fades away.”
Listen to ‘Suddenly Something’ on the Premier League playlist.
Following a successful EP campaign in May, Rosellas achieved features on Radio-X’s X-Posure with John Kennedy, and playlist slots in Spotify’s The Official Formula 1 and Betfred Super League Playlists, Wimbledon Official Playlist and more. A headline run of shows in the UK paired with a support slot tour adds to the excitement of these releases, where audiences can catch the brand new tunes live, ahead of their release date.
On Across All Skies, Rosellas add, “This way of writing and recording has birthed some of what we feel are our best songs to date with all five tracks sitting melodically and sonically within the same environment, which we believe always creates a strong body of work and gives the EP a sense of identity. If we were to summarise the EP in a sentence it’s a group of songs that explore the ideas of relationship, ambition and introspection all while going for broke pursuing, or in some cases finding your purpose in life.”
