Pioneering electronic producer and DJ SHERELLE today surprises the world by dropping her hugely anticipated debut album unannounced.
Arriving in the week that she plays her biggest headline show to date, WITH A VENGEANCE is out now to stream and download via Method 808, and is heralded by its lead single, the Juke-meets-Detroit Ghetto House collaboration with friend George Riley, ‘FREAKY (JUST MY TYPE)’.
“When I first made the ‘FREAKY’ instrumental, I was extremely confused but knew there was something different about this song,” explains SHERELLE. “I’m super grateful to George as once I played it to her, she gave me the belief that the instrumental was strong enough to make a banger. It took her 15 minutes to change my mind about the track. I’ve never had so much fun in a session before! We only had an hour with each other but it’s turned into a beautiful lifelong memory between friends and we now have a beautiful song out of it. Forever grateful for her support throughout making it and adding the much-needed touch to this song.”

“Always love getting in the studio with SHERELLE to have a little cackle and a catch up,” adds Riley. “This particular day we’d finally started working but nothing was really sticking. We had about 10 minutes to go and SHERELLE played me the instrumental for what would become ‘FREAKY’. It was already such a vibe and almost like magic the bisexual anthem was born. We were pleased. We closed our laptops and gave thanks for a good day at the office.”
Made across 2024 between London and Amsterdam, WITH A VENGEANCE (or WAV for short) is the sound of uptempo catharsis, of SHERELLE making sense of a turbulent and difficult moment in time in her personal life. Determined to write one track a day, the studio became a safe space for SHERELLE to channel anger and feelings of betrayal, her hard and fast club tracks turning darkness into the cerebral joy of overcoming adversity. From those intense daily writing sessions has emerged a sharp, finely-crafted 10-track LP that is powered by fierce feminine energy and reflects the hard/soft and light/dark dualities of the dancefloor and life itself.
Having cut her teeth on the UK’s underground club scene, broken the internet with seminal live streams and and sold-out countless international shows playing only the most forward thinking and uncompromising music, SHERELLE is combining her visionary approach and headliner-status to leave a lasting impact on the history and future of club culture. The 31-year-old was forged in the heat of real club culture and she continues to wear her love of the underground on her sleeve with SHERELLELAND, the recession-busting club night that she’s been touring across the UK and Europe that has unannounced line-ups and £10 tickets for her dedicated army of “bocats on a budget”. Alongside her debut album, 2025 also sees the biggest SHERELLELAND yet, taking over London’s historic Roundhouse venue this Friday (April 11).
