Fast-rising Lagos singer, songwriter and multidisciplinary creative Solana shares her new single, ‘O Rí Mi’, taken from her debut EP, Girl From The West, set for release on November 6.
‘O Rí Mi’ ushers in the next phase of Solana’s evolution, setting the tone for Girl From The West – an energetic, exuberant and a fresh entry into the fascinating Yoru-Pop world she is building. The record is an intimate window into how she thinks, how she sees the world and how she expresses herself. Deeply personal, the EP represents something sacred that Solana is ready to share with the world.
The EP announcement follows the organic rise of recent single ‘OkunKun’, released earlier this year. The track found its audience organically, surpassing one million streams and soundtracking more than 12k TikTok videos. Its momentum was amplified by co-signs from global stars including SZA, Little Simz, Mr Eazi and Tyla.

Solana makes music that shimmers and glows. Born and raised in Lagos, the Yoruba singer infuses her native dialect into a sea of synth-pop and R&B, concocting a bright, bouncy sound she terms Yoru-Pop. While she experiments across genres, the core never fades: the battle between light and darkness, both a recurring theme in her songs and the energy that surrounds them.
Inspired by artists including Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and King Sunny Adé, Solana is carving out a space where cultural pride, experimentation and individuality coexist. With ‘O Rí Mi’ and Girl From The West, she continues to push Yoru-Pop forward, championing the richness of African culture on a global stage while encouraging listeners to embrace their identities and trust their instincts. Solana has also been selected as a Spotify EQUAL Africa Ambassador, further cementing her position as one of the exciting emerging voices in African music.
