The Interview
SM: When did you begin DJ’ing for San Jose Earthquakes?
CG: I started DJ’ing for the Earthquakes a few years ago.
SM: How did you initially get into the role?
CG: I DJ’d at an event one day, the club then approached me about becoming their house DJ.
SM: Can you remember your first soccer game/stadium experience as a kid?
CG: No I can’t, to be honest I was never much into sports as a kid.
SM: In your time with Earthquakes, who’s the best player you’ve seen play for the team?
CG: That would have to be Chris Wondolowski (WOZ), our top scorer of all time.
SM: Who is your favourite artist/band of all time?
CG: I have a few here… Metallica, Ice Cube & Santana.
SM: Which piece of music do you think is the ultimate track for motivating a soccer team?
CG: I mainly play for the fan-zone, but they love to dance in there.
SM: Do you have an all-time favourite track that you play at Earthquakes games?
CG: ‘La Chona’ is a crowd favourite, by Los Tucanes De Tijuana
SM: What are the main songs used week in, week out in your sets?
CG: Main tracks include, ‘Pepa’, ‘La Chona’, ‘Blow the Whistle’, and ‘Feeling Myself’.
SM: On a final note, are there any funny mishaps/cock-ups that have taken place that come to mind when you think about your career so far?
CG: I’d have to say stopping traffic on the Bay Bridge… crazy!
