London quartet The Fades unveil their latest single 'Small Again', a 3-minute indie pop-rock blast of nostalgia for times gone by.
Reminiscent of Ash, Blink-182, Idlewild and Hope of the States, the track is the follow-up to their last single ‘Off the Record’ which blew up on streaming and radio, with BBC 6Music, Amazing Radio and Radio X picking it up along with a whole host of music blogs, playlist curators and sites.
We all get a little misty eyed at the thought of our past, remembering good times and bad. Times that leave an indelible mark on our being. Music is one of the most effective ways to bring back these memories, flooding your thoughts like it was yesterday. One bar of a song and the nostalgia for times gone by hits you right in the feels. Frontman Dave Lightfoot sings about the fact that as he’s got older there are now so many more memories associated with so many songs: “I’m thinking of all the songs that make me cry, and how as the years go by, there are so many more of them….”

The Fades are an unrelenting post-punk garage rock four piece from South West London. Made up of brothers Dave (vocals, guitar) and James Lightfoot (bass), lifetime school friend Jonny Barnard (guitar) and Alastair “Flash” Thorpe (drums), they combine a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour, songs of love and loss, anxiety and introspection. With fierce and energetic raw energy, they create a scintillating mix of post-punk indie and garage rock.
