Multi-faceted singer, songwriter, musician and producer woody releases his new single, 'out of my mind', via Parlophone Records.
Inspired by a range of boundary-pushing artists from Paul Simon, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and Kendrick Lamar, to Prince, Steely Dan, MF Doom and MacDemarco, woody continues his period of sonic exploration. ‘out of my mind’ is a cathartic anthem about breaking free from a mismatched relationship and the emotional tug-of-war that comes with letting go. Written with raw honesty and late-night urgency, woody wraps the conflict within a Prince-esque groove, driven by synth bass and his shimmering affected guitar.
On the track, woody says “Out of my mind is about the moment that you realise the feeling of heartbreak isn’t forever, and you can come out the other side feeling stronger.”

Born in the tiny south coast town of Whitchurch but now based in South London, the 22-year-old is at the vanguard of a new wave of experimental UK artists fusing years-honed live instrumentation and musicianship with DIY, laptop-core bedroom pop. Growing up on a diet of open mic nights, woody often performed underage after being sneaked in through the back door by his dad, with those years of practice becoming instrumental to his artistic development. After the pandemic struck early in 2020, woody then taught himself to make beats on his laptop — and hasn’t looked back since.
woody’s prolific work ethic means that alongside his own material, he has also been producing and writing for the likes of peers such as Florence Road, Nectar Woode and Bug Eyed.
After an intimate performance at The Great Escape Festival, plus sold-out live performances at Folklore and The Greyhound in London, woody will be supporting Hardlife on their tour, plus his own solo show at Peckham Audio in December
