Alternative/electro-pop band Cannons share their latest single, 'These Nights', the latest off the band’s next album, Everything Glows - out March 27 via Columbia Records.
With ‘These Nights’, Cannons fuse a disco-infected groove with shimmering pop sensibility. Anchored by a prominent bassline, sweeping orchestral strings, sharp electric guitar riffs, and layered percussion, the track delivers sonic depth while exploring the overwhelming weight of existence. Lead singer Michelle Joy reflects on the pressure to consistently perform at the highest level and the fear of losing the qualities that make you special as life goes on.
Set against a twinkling, star-filled backdrop, the accompanying visualiser beautifully complements the song’s mellow yet immersive soundscape. Dressed in disco-inspired attire, each band member glimmers and sways in and out of the spotlight, visually capturing the track’s luminous energy.

On the track, the band shares: “‘These Nights’ is about the late-night fear that you’re not who you used to be. We pushed ourselves on this one, layering sweeping orchestration with lush guitars and cinematic production so it feels expansive yet intimate. It’s for anyone who’s ever stayed up too late wondering if they’ve lost their thunder. If that feeling is familiar, this one’s for you.”
Everything Glows is a powerful and entrancing fifth album from the beloved band. Written and recorded as lead singer and songwriter, Michelle Joy rebuilt her health, showcasing less the sound of a band returning from a rest, and more a trio of friends reinventing the way they create, collaborate, and sound. The album radiates a sense of camaraderie, of bearing witness to one another through travails and triumphs. The 11 songs of Everything Glows navigate heartbreak and codependence, brokenness and, ultimately, liberation, spotlighting a group that found new ways to move forward and absolute excitement in both the process and its results.
Los Angeles-based trio Cannons, comprised of Michelle Joy (vocals), Ryan Clapham (lead guitar), and Paul Davis (drums, keys), have established themselves as one of electro-pop’s most compelling modern acts. Through their seamless blend of hypnotic synth-craft, atmospheric production, and evocative lyricism, the group has amassed over 1.4 billion global streams, a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, major festival slots, and sold-out headline shows under their belt.
