Falkirk natives Danko announce their eagerly anticipated second EP, Take Your Time, and share the lead single 'Losing Your Mind'.
Recorded with legendary producer Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Laura Marling, Paolo Nutini), and being released through Distiller Records on February 12 2025, Take Your Time feels like the work of a band about to show the world what they’re all about. The first single taken from the EP, ‘Losing Your Mind’ is a perfect example of what they do best, mixing the southern-tinged swagger of bands like R.E.M. and Delta Spirit, with evocative personal lyrics that wrestle with the slog of staying sane in the modern world.
“The struggles of working every day, worrying about bills, stuff just coming at you constantly and wondering when you’re going to get a break…” elaborates songwriter Michael Garner. “The lyrics are about falling off the wagon. I feel like people are just trying to keep afloat and even too much socialising can feel like it’s killing you.”

Formed by four long-time friends from Falkirk, Scotland, Danko have spent several years trading musical obsessions, learning their craft together, and honing a raw and unfettered sound. Made up of Lewis White (vocals/guitar), Michael Garner (guitar), Jamie Burns (Bass) and Matthew McAllister (drums), the band chose their name to pay tribute to one of their musical heroes, Rick Danko of The Band.
Growing up on their families record collections, their song writing has been influenced by everyone from U2 and Americana to Arctic Monkeys and Led Zeppelin, and their warm, rootsy sound sits in stark contrast to the angular post-punk sounds that currently dominates guitar music in the UK.
Essentially recorded as live, Take Your Time leans into everything that Danko are as a band. They’re live musicians who’ve honed their craft playing in front of audiences up and down the country, and their newest work captures that inter-band spirit and vibrancy with gusto.
