Brazilian electronic music star Alok joins forces with underground house veteran DJ Glen and producer ICARUZ for 'Weekend Warriors'.
Built around a driving, bass-heavy house sound, the collaboration brings together three artists with distinct backgrounds in electronic music for a club-focused record that pays tribute to the people who keep dance music culture moving, both on and off the dancefloor.
‘Weekend Warriors’ is built around a rolling bassline, punchy four-on-the-floor drums, and a hypnotic, repetitive vocal hook. Drawing on tech-house influences, the track layers crisp percussion, sharp electronic stabs, and playful vocal phrases into a driving, percussion-heavy production. Rather than relying on oversized drops or melodic breakdowns, the arrangement builds momentum through subtle shifts in rhythm and texture, maintaining a steady, late-night intensity throughout.

The track’s origins stretch back approximately three years, beginning with DJ Glen, who initially conceived the record as a tribute to his late friend Ortega, a VJ who passed away during a performance roughly a decade ago. What began as a personal dedication gradually evolved into a broader celebration of the people working behind the scenes in electronic music, from DJs and VJs to producers, technicians, road crews, and promoters. As the project developed, ICARUZ and Alok joined the creative process, bringing their respective production approaches to a record rooted in the shared experiences and community surrounding dance music.
Alok is a bonafide dance music artist and philanthropist holding the title of the second biggest Instagram following of any electronic artist globally, with 28 million fans.
