Glasgow quartet Spyres share their latest action-packed single, ‘Game Over’, released via First Run Records.
Following a successful headline tour of Germany in March 2026 across six cities, Spyres boasted a busy summer schedule with slots at the likes of YNOT!, House Guest, and a performance at Glasgow’s SWG3 on behalf of Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026 Presents, curated by Tenement TV.
‘Game Over’ satisfies the cravings of long-term Spyres fans and lovers of anthemic indie rock with their first release in over a year. Produced by Chris Marshall (Gerry Cinnamon, Dylan John Thomas, Dead Pony, Declan Welsh and the Decadent West) and Johnny Madden (Baby Strange, The Clause), the Glaswegian quartet look to build on their previous accolades having been supported by BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Radio X’s John Kennedy and BBC Introducing Scotland regularly in the past. The track is packed full of fun video game references resulting in an all round exciting tune, embracing the energetic stage presence that can be expected from the alt-rockers on the live stage.

Making a name for themselves on stage, Spyres supporting credentials include The Jesus And Mary Chain, Nothing But Thieves, The Snuts, Soft Cult to name a few. In spite of the pandemic, in 2021 Spyres made serious ground in the live space in their own right. Their headline show at Glasgow’s King Tuts on the Summer Nights programme sold-out in less than 24 hours of the onsale date, and months later, the band sold-out London’s Old Blue Last, Glasgow’s Stereo and Edinburgh’s Mash House. In addition to this, Spyres made their debut at a number of major festivals; TRNSMT, Neighborhood, Live At Leeds, including a headline slot on the This Feeling stage at Isle Of Wight Festival.
Since then, Spyres have released a five-track EP, Karaoke Sellouts, showing their range of talent through tracks like ‘Money’ & ‘Sleep Forever’. This set up Spyres nicely into 2024 where they supported NewDad just before heading over to the USA to play New Colossus Festival, New York and SXSW, Austin, TX. 2025 saw Spyres release new single, ‘Fun’ and embark on their first string of Euro dates in Copenhagen and Paris as well as a performance at Sziget Festival in Budapest. They also completed two UK tours, selling out shows in Manchester, Bristol, London and Glasgow.
