Standout Newcastle singer-songwriter Andrew Cushin shares, 'Human Condition', the title track from his new EP, out November 20 on First Run Records.
The anthemic new four-track EP arrives with emotional weight, lyrical delving into themes of addiction and loss. The title track perfectly introducing the intricate songwriting and themes listeners can expect within the full body of work.
Andrew comments, “This EP is a mixture of songs both new and reimagined older songs I’ve written over the years. Why You is a song I wrote back when I was 21 years old and I found in an old song book prior to recording this EP. I think the EP ticks all the boxes of what I’m about as a songwriter, the emotive and personal songs are covered with ‘Addiction’ which I wrote around the time of my fathers passing. ‘Why You?’ being heavily influenced by Noel Gallagher, smile being the anthemic sing along chorus that I try so hard to incorporate into all of my writing and finally ‘Human Condition’ which I think is just a great song.”

Andrew continues, “This EP is going to be a joy to play live. I also had the pleasure of working closely with my band in the recording process of this EP, Johnny Bond’s guitar solos have given my music a real boost of indie magic whilst the keys and woodwind instruments on ‘Human Condition’ played by Rich Smedley takes that song into a more unfamiliar, but welcomed territory”.
Championed by Noel Gallagher, Pete Doherty, Sam Fender and Louis Tomlinson, Andrew Cushin lived up to the hype with his debut album Waiting For The Rain, which spent three weeks at #1 on the Official Independent Album Breakers Chart while surging into the Top 10 on the Independent Albums and Record Store Charts. He has also become an increasingly big draw with his live shows across the U.K., Europe and the USA.
