Declan McKenna’s timeless anthem, 'Brazil', gets its first ever official dance rework from British DJ duo Switch Disco.
Around its 10-year anniversary, they have transformed the original into a global dancefloor-ready house track, perfect for adding fresh energy to dance playlists and stations. Switch Disco tested the track in DJ sets on their Australia and New Zealand tour where it went down so well with fans that Declan McKenna personally gave permission to clear the sample, also for the first time.
With a shared 20 years of club experience under their belt, legendary mash-up duo Switch Disco are no strangers to creating unmissable dancefloor moments. Having built an eye-watering following on video platforms YouTube and TikTok for their irreverent mixes and pristine blends, Dan Creasy and Nikos Kalogerias quickly grew from well-respected club favourites to household names.

They exploded on SoundCloud from their mashup of Bicep’s ‘Glue’ and Nelly Furtado’s ‘Say It Right’ which has more than nine million plays on the platform. Their originals combine influences to create timeless dance classics; they sampled Robert Miles’ ‘Children’ in the studio with Ella Henderson to create their platinum record ‘REACT’, which has over 200 million streams and earned a nomination for ‘Song of the Year’ at the 2024 BRIT Awards.
One of indie’s most innovative minds, Declan McKenna is still in his early 20s but approached a new era in his journey as a songwriter on 2024’s Top 3 UK charting Album What Happened To The Beach?. If his previous works were that of a young musician trying to find his place in the world, this new one was a musician taking heed of his own experience and positioning himself exactly where he wishes. It was a record with a lightness of touch; all nimble grooves and playful, loose structures. It was Declan deciding that he’s totally fine to be who he wanted to be; himself… and sounded all the freer for it.
